The Art of Composing a Painting Part 1 of 3

Wow have we heard requests from our YSO members about this one! I have been asked time and time again for advice on beginning a painting. How to get started, reference material to use, canvas size, etc. The questions are many and the options are also many. So, today our lesson is in response to that question and as well in response to what we again see students regularly struggle with in terms of learning fine art techniques. It doesn’t really matter if you are a beginner or an advanced artist, this step in the learning process is key to a successful painting … yet as you’ll see, typically takes a great deal of patience, practice, and just plain fortitude before you can feel you truly have mastered the art-of-composing technique. The good news is … YOU can learn the key elements in pulling everything together that you need for your unique composition and I’m going to walk you through these steps. Now let’s get started!
