1703 Cowboy Campfire, Part 3 of 5

In episode 3, Jerry uses the #2 chisel-edge brush to block in intermediate details: horse, saddle, cowboys, etc. Now Jerry turns his attention to the campfire using orange, red, and white to mottle in the fire’s glow. Next Jerry begins detail to the wagon (wood grain, shelves, pockets, etc). Adds suggestion details to items sitting nearby. Now Jerry blocks in a “suggestive” cowboy and his hat. More work on the water and the bank in the foreground creating dimension. Sticking with basic tones, Jerry shows how to insert rocks which he calls “dark blobs” and then inserts reflections in the water.
