1604 Multnomah the Magnificent, Part 4 of 5

In the 4th of 5 episodes of complete study painting "Multnomah, the Magnificent", Jerry illustrates the use of a toothbrush to add water action and a fine-mist to various areas of the painting. Next using charcoal or a conte pencil, you can sketch in arches and railing details of the bridge. Next use #4 chisel-edge brush, block in background of arches, etc., of the bridge structure using darker tone. Next using script brush, begin blocking in some of limbs and tree trunks – then with darker mixture add contrasting values to same. With #4 round sable brush, Jerry fills in the bridge arches, rails, and posts. Now with #6 chisel-edge brush, Jerry uses a thick amount of paint to create the brighter, center part of the falling water.
