In the 2nd of 5 lessons in this series, Jerry begins painting in the connecting limb with a #2 bristle brush making sure to achieve tapered limbs and to create soft edges. Trees are highlighted, the birdhouse is blocked in, along with the roof and supporting post. Blocking in the under painting with proper value is necessary to provide the color to allow the highlighted color to fully show the form of the trees, the bark of the tree limb and the rough texture of the birdhouse wood.
