Hi Jerry and staff, I am 73 and have been painting since I was 9.  I have had one art lesson but I still paint a lot in oil and acrylic. I sincerely love your style. I paint big and small. Even murals on my church walls. I appreciate all of your instructionand tips.  God Bless   Shirley Cooper

Thanks so much for your show. It is always informative and helpful. I have been painting for about 45 years but I still have problems with overworking and getting everything too dark. I would love to come to one of your classes.  I feel drawing is a little easier for me but I think I have picked up some pretty bad habits. I have done painting for community theater and all have been well received but they don't have the effortless accuracy of your work.  Keep doing your beautiful work. You are an inspiration.

I watch the tv program as much as I  can, and have worked on some of the paintings.  Today my husband was watching  and said that your palette looks like a Paint Store blew up.🎨💣

I have just found your painting program on UNC TV here in Ncn.  Can you explain to me why all teachers begin painting a tree with a brown color?  Trees are brown only if dead.  Sorry but trees are grey.  I enjoy your program very much.  God has richly blessed you with a good eye.  Continue using the talent God gave you. Thank you

Hi Jerry.  I love watching you and the other artists on UNC TV.  I feel as if I am learning from you.  One thing I wish you would talk about is your palette.  I was taught to keep the pallete clean which is very hard to do with water color.   I notice your palette is the dirtier than mine.  How do you use it and not get the paints muddy?

Hi Jerry<div>Love to watch your painting shows. Im teaching myself to paint. I love it. Funny thing is when I was in middle school i wanted to be an artist. I couldnt draw as well as my classmates. Now Im 56 I just started painting. Im so surprised. Its my therapy! The show you did with a mailbox. You said the mailbox post was in a grain can? Its actually a milk can. My dad use to pick up milk from farms in Vermont an this is what milk was put in many years ago from farms. I wish I had a couple of them now. I hope you continue to have your shows on PBS for along time. Youre awesome!!!</div>

<span><span><span>Jerry, I have been watching your "Paint This" show for quite a while now and I just today decided to try your web site. I found the info about you being a minister and it caught my eye, being a child of the King myself. I listened to your sermon and watched you paint and was so inspired by you. I thank God that He has saved you to carry on His Word. You have a wonderful ministry! I wish you lived closer to me so that you could come to my church. I'm an artist but I've never been brave enough to do much with selling my works. But I love to paint for people. Like you, I love to see the happy faces. I'm not the greatest but God has blessed me enough to share it with my friends and family. I would love to be able to take your classes but that is just a dream of mine. May God bless you in all you do!! And if you're ever going to be near Pinehurst, North Carolina please let me know. God bless!</span></span></span>

Thank you.  God Bless you! Jerry & Donna

Good Morning Jerry &amp; Donna! I have recently begun to replenish my spirit and my studio after the loss of my husband of 39 yrs. from lung &amp; brain cancer. For the past year, I have been unable to even clear my mind enough to pick up my brushes (I have painted for 40 yrs), but on the week of his passing this month I suddenly snapped out of my fog, and began watching many of your cds &amp; books I had purchased from you in the past. I now feel a renewed sense of picking up where I left off 3 yrs. ago today. I give thanks to God, and for helping me find my way back to your painting lessons and methods. You once did me the honor of critiquing my painting of cardinals in a snowy pinee tree, and told me refreshing came to your mind. Thank you so much Jerry &amp; Ms. Donna for providing me with orders so promptly, and helping me to once again ,to begin again-something I know that Jerry is all-too familiar with. God Bless you both, and I wish you continued success with all of your endeavors!  Sincerely, Cheryl Jones

Thank you Cheryl, God Bless!

I discovered your PBS show shortly before my husband died of Alzheimer's.  As his caregiver I rarely had time to paint and as the disease progressed, not at all.  Before the disease, we did art shows together, with him doing all the setting up of canopy, panels, etc.  I had little desire to paint after he died.  But, watching your shows rekindled my enthusiasm to pick up the brushes once again.  Your teaching style and technics with acrylic and water mixable oil especially spurred me on.  I am now painting again; my paintings are in a gallery and I am active in our local art association.  My daughter started watching your show and she is now painting and we are doing shows together.   God bless you Jerry, for you were truly used of the Lord in helping me, a great-grandmother 82 years old.

Jerry, thank you for many hours of painting lessons.God has also given me the gift of painting nevertheless it took me six years before i picked up a brushes. i am a disabled painter anxious to learn to paint land scape paintings. my health has made it very  hard to visit nature sites moverover i watch alot of tv. i have enjoyed your teaching style as well as the advice which have given-----"DO not try to copy my style but allow your self to be ceative-practice,practice and avoid the three p when youare painting"I wish with all my heart that i could come to your studio, nevertheless my many  disablities makes my it very diffult for me to travel long distence. I want you to know that i have given 75 land scape paintings as gifts. i wishes that i could sell some of my works again my health is a large factor in my inablity to market my works .It does gives me much pleasure to give them away as gifts, moreover i have gotten alot of very good responds about my works May THE LORD CONTINUE TO BLESS  YOUR PAINTING MINISTRY. IT helps alot of us who are disabled and are limited  in our ablities to travel outsides of our comunities to be able to watch you show again thank  may THE LORD contiue to bless you and your family.

I just had to say hello and also say how much we admire your ideas for ministering to others!  I love art, and am starting to paint once again.  Your DVDs  look like the perfect way to learn so much more.  We believe as you do, as Christians we are here to serve those in need, teach, and follow the Lords instructions. Hope to be able to come to Oklahoma and take a course in the near future.<br><div>We will keep you in our prayers.</div><div>GO BLESS!</div><div>Keith and Sharon </div>

<div>Jerry, My question is I notice in your PBS series that when you are painting in Acrylics you seem to use gesso along with your primary colors. I thought you were not supposed to use gesso as a medium or mix it with colors. Back in the 70's and 80's when I was painting I use to use Hyplar brand and they had something called HyGel which you could use to mix and also extend your colors to use in place of a medium. Correct me here about mixing color with gesso. I'm confused.</div><div>Thanks for your show, it's great.</div>

First of all I want to tell you what a privilege it was to meet you and your lovely wife Donna during my 3 days with you Feb 6-8.  Your love and desire<div>to teach and help others is very evident.  With your help and guidance,  one of the paintings I brought with me was converted from a 1 star rating to a 4 star in just a few days (5 stars are reserved for you only).  Thanks again for your help in improving my painting techniques.  All I need to do now is put what I've learned into practice.</div><div>    After 3 wonderful days at your studio, I not only think of you as my teacher but also as my friend.  I think that is one of  traits that has made your teaching career such a success. May God continue to bless you and ykur family.</div>

Dear Jerry and crew,  I have been a part of your online school for 3 years now.  Needless to say I love it.  I started out as a craft painter and I do pretty well at it.  However I wanted to expand my talent and I found your site.  I started with Mr. ROSS, but oil paints and I are like oil and water, we don't MIx well.  I always have more on me than the canvas.   Your techniques are wonderful and I love the fact that I can go back and watch it again if I don't get it the first time.  I love the fact that your encourage to make it our own and not to just copy. <div>I just wanted to say Thank You for providing a service and sharing your talents with us.  </div><div>I just did a painting for my brothers birthday by combining 3 different lessons in one painting.  It turned out wonderful and I can't wait to see his face when he opens it.  Thank you again.</div><div><br></div><div>God Bless You, Your wife and your crew.</div><div>Kristina Paden</div>

Many thanks for the compassionate, sharing, and fun way that you teach.  I've been enjoying being an online student for several years now.  I learn new things with each painting lesson and though I would love to paint perfectly, thank you for teaching and encouraging us to paint patiently, and just keep painting.  <div><br></div><div>I really enjoyed the "Backwater Swamp" painting lessons.  I've painted it once and plan to go through the 4 lessons again and paint it a second time, and maybe a third.  Really like the mysterious atmosphere and interesting techniques of that painting.  </div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for all you do and for being a teacher to all of us out here learning more art online, no matter what our age.  (in my 70th year now)  The lessons are wonderful, enjoy the variety of subjects, and having the high-quality videos available anytime day or night is great.  </div><div><br></div><div>Bless you and thank you.  </div><div><br></div><div>~Laura Meade</div>
